Named for the family who commissioned the project, the 1959 house boasts a hemicycle, or half-circle, construction; an orientation that is painstakingly integrated with its lakeside site; and building materials that complement the wooded surroundings. Inside, a 70-foot, semi-circular great room offers views of the lake. Much of the furniture, including a 40-foot sofa, was designed by the architect.
